Senior / Lead Subcontracting Specialist - Pivotal project
Were working with a world-class engineering and project delivery business on a critical position that will see you at the heart of some of the most technically and commercially complex projects in the offshore and onshore oil & gas sector. If youre a seasoned subcontracting professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and is ready to take the lead on high-value packages this is the opportunity youve been waiting for.
This 12-month contract role comes at a pivotal time in the project lifecycle with major subcontract awards about to be finalised. You ll be stepping into a senior position with direct influence over key decisions while also mentoring a small team through one of the most commercially sensitive phases of delivery.
As a Senior / Lead Subcontracting Specialist you ll be responsible for managing end-to-end subcontracting activities ensuring risk is mitigated opportunities are maximised and the company s commercial position is protected at all times. Strong subcontracting experience is essential including both pre- and post-award contract management on large complex projects.
Your responsibilities will include:

Managing subcontractor relationships post-award including claims variations final accounts and performance

Leading pre-award activities such as developing subcontracting plans preparing ITTs and negotiating terms

Supporting cost control through accurate forecasting accrual tracking and alignment with project budgets

Ensuring subcontract and purchase order terms are contractually sound and reflect main contract obligations

Facilitating project risk workshops and maintaining risk registers in collaboration with the wider team
We re looking for candidates with:

Proven hands-on experience in subcontracting on major oil & gas or infrastructure projects (pre- and post-award)

A degree in commerce law engineering or construction management or equivalent project experience

A strong understanding of contracts law commercial risk and subcontractor performance management

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

Confidence in leading mentoring and setting the standard for a small high-performing team
