Job Summary:
The Patient Access Representative II is responsible for registering patients scheduling appointments obtaining authorizations for services and providing information to patients and funding sources. This role requires strong customer service skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations. Knowledge of medical terminology insurance verification and computer systems is essential.

Responsibilities:
- Register patients for inpatient outpatient and diagnostic services.
- Schedule appointments and obtain necessary authorizations.
- Provide information to patients and funding sources.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Perform data entry and maintain productivity standards.
- Verify insurance eligibility and authorization requirements.
- Utilize electronic health record systems (e.g. Epic).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- High school diploma GED or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare setting or one year in a call center environment.
- Knowledge of managed care health plans scheduling registration billing and/or claims payment.
- Basic computer skills typing and data entry proficiency.
- General knowledge of medical terminology or six months of demonstrated experience in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of insurance verification authorization and eligibility requirements.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Epic system knowledge.
- Experience with internet-based applications.
Special Considerations:
- Night shift (3 PM - 11:30 PM).
- Weekends included.
Scheduling:
- 5x8-hour shifts.
- Night shift (3 PM - 11:30 PM).
- Weekends are required.
