Job Description

Job Summary:

This role is for a Certified Operating Room Technician. The position requires floating between units in a short-term acute care/Level III trauma center providing surgical services support and utilizing Epic charting. The OR Tech will be responsible for assisting surgical teams in a variety of procedures and maintaining a safe and efficient operating room environment. On-call responsibilities and weekend work are required.
Location: Spokane N/A Washington United States
Responsibilities:
- Assisting surgical teams during procedures.
- Preparing surgical instruments and equipment.
- Maintaining sterile field and surgical environment.
- Assisting with patient positioning and transfer.
- Monitoring patient vital signs and reporting any changes.
- Cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment.
- Maintaining inventory of supplies.
- Adhering to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current certification as a Certified Operating Room Technician.
- Active BLS certification.
- Washington State license.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Certified OR Tech.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in a Level III Trauma Center.
- Experience with Epic charting.

Special Considerations:
- On-call responsibilities: 1-2 weeknights and 1 weekend every 6-8 weeks.
- Weekend work required: 1 weekend every 6-8 weeks.
- Block scheduling required.
- Patient ratios: 1:1.
- 48-hour workweeks are not approved.
- Floating between units is required.

Scheduling:
- Block scheduling is utilized.
- On-call and weekend work are required on a rotating basis. Specific shift assignments will be determined by the facility.
