The Vail Police Department is now accepting applications for a Future Police Academy Sponsorship. This unique opportunity is perfect for individuals passionate about joining a progressive community-focused police department in one of the worlds premier resort destinations.
Selected candidates will attend the 612-hour Police Academy at Colorado Mountain Colleges Spring Valley Campus in Glenwood Springs fully sponsored by the Town of Vail. Youll receive $38.75 per hour during the academy and upon successful completion POST certification and departmental vacancy youll have the opportunity to join the Vail Police Department as a full-time officer.

About the Role of a Vail Police Officer
Upon graduation and certification youll serve as a sworn law enforcement officer enforcing Colorado and Town of Vail laws. Youll focus on:

What Were Looking For
The ideal candidate is passionate about community-oriented policing and thrives in a collaborative guest-service-driven environment. You must align with the Vail Police Departments core values:

You should also demonstrate:
- A strong work history in a related field.
- 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university (BA or BS degree preferred).
- Exceptional communication public relations problem-solving skills and guest service orientation.
- A high level of integrity and professionalism.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are highly preferred.
- 21 years of age or older at the time of academy graduation.
Applicants must pass a polygraph psychological evaluation drug screen background investigation and physical abilities testing.
