Billing Specialist Tallahassee FL (Full-Time)
Thomas Howell Ferguson P.A. CPAs (THF) is a growing large regional Top 200 nationally recognized public accounting firm with an ever-expanding reach locally regionally statewide nationally and are currently seeking an individual looking to take that next step in their career by accepting the engaging and fulfilling role as a Billing Specialist in our Tallahassee office. The perfect person for this role works efficiently both independently and in a team environment. The ability to meet established and hard deadlines while managing multiple projects is essential. If you enjoy working with all levels inside and outside of the firm mentoring junior level staff and implementing best practices for internal accounting responsibilities then this is the perfect role for you!

- Associate or Bachelors degree preferred (experience may be substituted for education)
- Has 5 years of progressive billing accounts receivable or accounting experience preferably in a professional services or public accounting environment
- Proficiency in Excel Word Adobe and Outlook
- Has experience with CCH Practice Management or other time-and-billing software is highly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and financial accuracy
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently
- Comfortable working with internal teams and communicating with clients in a professional manner
- Resourceful problem-solver with a solid understanding of billing workflows
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare edit and issue client invoices across multiple service lines based on firm and client specifications
- Review time and billing reports (WIP) ensuring accuracy and proper application of rates codes and discounts
- Respond to internal and external billing inquiries with professionalism and promptness
- Assist with tracking accounts receivable and generating aging and collections reports
- Follow up with clients on outstanding invoices and assist in collections efforts as needed
- Support month-end close processes related to billing and A/R
- Collaborate with team members to identify and support process improvements
- Maintain organized billing records and documentation in compliance with firm standards
