As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology Employee Platforms - Employee Compute team youare an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. As a core technical contributor you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors startups and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs technical credentials and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity equity inclusion and respect
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years applied experience
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience in Java/J2EE JavaScript Angular (v18) React (Advanced state management) REST Services; 17 in Advanced Java
- 5 years of relational database software development experience (Oracle).
- 5 years of experience with full development lifecycle from inception through implementation.
- 3 years of experience in AWS Technologies: ECS Lambda EKS IAM Roles/Policies S3 Kinesis SQS SNS.
- Experience with Databricks managing Databricks Asset Bundles (DABS) and implementing Delta Live Tables (DLT) workflows.
- Experience with Agile (Scrum) methodology.
- Ability to work in large collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals.
- Writing high-performance reliable and maintainable code; preparing unit test cases and validating results.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles and practices including version control testing and code optimization
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to drill deep into issues to drive solutions.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies: Highcharts for data visualization Bootstrap for responsive design and UI Accessibility.
- Expertise in data processing and analysis using Spark (PySpark) Python and SQL for handling large datasets and complex workflows.
- Proficiency with development tools: Jenkins Git/BitBucket Jira etc.
- Understanding of software skills: business analysis development maintenance and software improvement.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as code toolset: Terraform.
- Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices; passionate about building an innovative culture
