THE ROLE

Khan Academy is seeking an Analytics Manager to lead our Analytics function which is part of the larger Data Insights Group. This group also includes Efficacy and Research as well as Analytics Engineering. Were a small team with big ambitions and access to some of the richest educational data in the world. We leverage this data to gain a deeper understanding of our users their usage of our products the impact of product use on learning and how we can better support their educational journeys.

Were looking for an experienced people-focused leader who can drive transformative change by generating impactful insights and nurturing a data-informed culture across Khan Academy. Youll combine deep analytics expertise with a passion for mentorship and team leadership to elevate our decision-making and product effectiveness.

Khan Academy has recently launched several new educational products through high-profile partnerships. These initiatives have the potential to transform education globally and their success depends on our ability to understand what works for whom and where we can improve. This role will be critical in realizing that vision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the Analytics Team

  • Lead and coach a team focused on exceptional fundamental product and KPI reporting for various cross-functional teams including: Product Philanthropy District Success and International.
  • Step in as needed to support team members navigating complex projects or challenging stakeholder prioritization.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration shared learning and continuous improvement within the Analytics team.
  • Review code to ensure quality consistency and maintainability across analytics outputs.
  • Provide coaching and professional development opportunities including mentoring on soft skills access to formal training programs and peer learning initiatives to help Analysts expand their technical expertise as well as their leadership.

Cultivate a Data-Informed Culture

  • Promote thoughtful insight-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive strategic prioritization including setting goals aligning on timelines and making resource allocation decisions for Analytics work across the organization to maximize impact and alignment with company goals.
  • Drive a data self-service culture by ensuring cross-functional stakeholders have easy-to-use reliable dashboards.
  • Develop engaging ways to communicate key performance metrics such as through dashboards internal reports or monthly business review presentations with internal teams.

Support Strategic Initiatives

  • Partner with the Sr. Director of the Data Insights Group to ensure strong Analytics representation in the evaluation and prioritization of strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses for strategic projects as needed often in collaboration with senior leadership to address questions about product performance user behavior or organizational impact.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 8 years of experience in Product Analytics or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience leading and managing an Analytics team with 4 members.
  • Experience developing data models and dashboards using BI tools (Looker preferred).
  • Comfort working across the full analytics lifecyclefrom measurement plan to instrumentation to data storytelling.
  • Advanced SQL skills with a strong foundation in descriptive and inferential statistics.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills across verbal written and visual formats with a track record of effective collaboration across Engineering Product Philanthropy Content and Senior Leadership teams.

The target salary range for this position is $181990 - $216575 USD / $245925 - $292670 CAD. The pay range for this position is a general guideline only. The salary offered will depend on internal pay equity and the candidates relevant skills experience qualifications and job market data. Additional incentives are provided as part of the complete total rewards package in addition to comprehensive medical and other benefits.
