Job Summary:
This role is for a Certified Surgical Technologist in a community hospital setting. The surgical technologist will be responsible for assisting surgeons during surgical procedures preparing operating rooms and sterilizing surgical instruments. The position requires a minimum of three years of experience and proficiency in various surgical specialties including robotics and total joint replacements. On-call and weekend shifts are required.

Responsibilities:
- Assisting surgeons during surgical procedures (scrubbing).
- Preparing operating rooms and surgical instruments.
- Sterilizing and reprocessing surgical instruments and equipment.
- Managing case carts and crash carts.
- Maintaining aseptic technique.
- Performing tasks related to sterilization decontamination assembly and wrapping.
- Assisting with airway management.
- Working with robotic surgical systems (DaVinci XI).
- Experience with orthopedic (total joints) bariatric plastic and podiatry surgical cases.
- Experience with general orthopedic urology endoscopic/laparoscopic and gynecological procedures.
- Performing specific gynecological procedures (abdominal hysterectomy anterior/posterior repair bilateral tubal ligation dilation & curettage laparoscopic-assisted gynecological procedures vaginal hysterectomy).
- Participating in unit orientation and floating to other hospitals as needed.
- Adhering to a strict no RTO policy.
- Working additional shifts as needed (up to 2 additional shifts every 6 weeks).
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
- Experience in a community hospital setting.
- Proficiency in scrubbing for various surgical specialties (General Ortho Ortho/Total Joints Urology Endo/Laparoscopic Gyn).
- Experience with robotic surgery (DaVinci XI) including docking and inserting robot arms.
- Experience with total joint replacements.
- BLS certification.
- NBSTSA and CST certification.
- Graduation from an accredited School of Surgical Technology program.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with sterilization decontamination assembly/wrapping and scope/probe reprocessing.
- Experience with airway management.
Special Considerations:
- No RTO (Return to Office) allowed.
- Call requirement: Yes 2-3 weekends per contract (12-hour shifts).
- Float requirement: Yes potential floating to other hospitals within the market.
- Weekend requirement: Only as needed for call.
- Unit orientation: 1 week maximum.
- Scrubs provided.
- Additional shifts may be required (up to 2 additional shifts every 6 weeks).
Scheduling:
- 36 hours per week offered.
- Shift: 06:30-19:00 Monday Tuesday and Thursday.
- Additional shifts may include weekday night weekend or call shifts.
