Job Description:
We are seeking a Technical Specialist Junior to support the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NC DOT) Service Desk/Accounts Team. This role focuses on Active Directory administration technical support user account management and incident resolution using ServiceNow. Candidates must have strong customer service skills a solid understanding of IT security policies and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and troubleshoot Active Directory in multi-domain environments
Resolve service desk tickets assist with password resets and support user access issues
Provide phone/email-based technical support to 12000 users on standard desktop applications
Document resolutions and maintain process/procedure documentation
Support onboarding/offboarding account changes
Ensure compliance with IT security policies and protect sensitive data
Participate in project leadership documentation and technical communication
Required Skills:
3 years of Active Directory account management and troubleshooting
Strong understanding of Microsoft AD 2008/2012 in multi-site environments
Advanced knowledge of system security and data protection policies
Hands-on experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems
Proven ability to independently resolve complex support issues
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong customer service analytical and problem-solving abilities
Additional Notes:
Candidate must report onsite for onboarding and collect equipment (shipping not available)
Remote work is temporary and subject to change per DOT management
Equipment must be returned onsite at contract end (by candidate/vendor representative)
