About the role

National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Joint Management Officer to work as part of a team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment flora fauna and Aboriginal heritage.

This is an Aboriginal Identified role where Aboriginal identity cultural knowledge or connections are a genuine aspect of the role. Positions are specifically noted under the provisions of the NSW Anti-discrimination Act (1977).

The Joint Management Officer is responsible for working with Aboriginal communities to coordinate develop and implement joint management programs and projects.

Join a team of rangers field staff and project officers based in the NPWS office at Griffith or Moama and working on country in the Kalyarr National Park Millewa National Park Cocoparra National Park state conversation areas and reserves including the Murray Murrumbidgee and Lachlan rivers.

About You

To be successful in the role you have experience in developing and implementing a shared perspective partnership and formal agreement for the management of the reserves within the area through collaboration with members of the Aboriginal community.

You have the demonstrated ability to obtain and synchronise accurate information from stakeholders with differing agendas views or cultural/environmental values.

You have the expertise to predict the outcomes of management decisions or recommendations identifying complex issues and making informed decisions and recommendations on timely resolution.
