Come work with a diverse group of individuals and assist adventure-seeking customers in exploring Maricopa Countys Parks. In this role youll knowledgeably explain the various attractions the park holds and feel good knowing you enhanced the client experience!
Please note that this position will require working various shifts including early mornings nights weekends and holidays.

At approximately 120042 acres of parkland and 872-miles of trails Maricopa County is home to one of the largest regional park systems in the nation. Currently there are twelve parks in Maricopa Countys regional park system. Each is unique and offers its visitors a wide variety of recreational opportunities.
The Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department oversees the Maricopa Trail a 315-mile trail system that encircles the valley and links all regional parks together. We Require
Six months of customer service/public contact experience
High school diploma or GED
A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
We Also Value
Cash handling experience using a computerized point of sale system
Customer service experience in a high-volume fast-paced environment with the ability to multitask
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel Word and Outlook
Job Contributions
Welcome and assist park visitors by answering questions offering guidance and delivering information about park amenities recreational opportunities trails and natural features.
Accurately collect day-use camping and other applicable fees using cash registers or point-of-sale systems. Sell daily seasonal and annual passes ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping.
Monitor two-way radios and telephone systems for routine and emergency communications. Promptly report and document any emergency situations to appropriate staff or law enforcement personnel.
Conduct routine patrols of park facilities including campgrounds and day-use areas to ensure visitor compliance with park rules and regulations. Provide education and issue warnings when necessary.
Explain park rules natural resources cultural history and environmental policies to visitors to promote awareness safety and conservation.

Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts. Perform daily reconciliation of receipts process credit/debit transactions and prepare deposits in accordance with park financial procedures.
Assist with the cleanliness organization and light maintenance of park offices kiosks and visitor service areas to ensure a welcoming and safe environment.
Working Conditions
Position is typically office or administrative work with exposure to extreme temperatures wetness humidity respiratory hazards wildlife moving mechanical parts vibrations fumes odors dusts poor ventilation chemicals oils inadequate lighting workspace restrictions and intense noises
Ability to exert 20-25 pounds occasionally 10-25 pounds frequently or up to 10 pounds constantly
May require regular vehicle travel between offsite locations including other Maricopa County Parks or within the same park of distances greater than 1 mile
Will require working various shifts and locations to include: Early mornings nights weekends and holidays. Some of the locations are within a remote area of the park
Walk to collect revenue in an outdoor climate with the possibility of temperatures over 100 degrees
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona drivers license by the time of hire
