District School Nurse for Longmeadow Public SchoolsPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Provide first aid to students and respond to inquiries and medical emergencies in accordance with nursing protocol.2. Administer prescribed medicines in compliance with school policy and physician orders.3. Perform medical procedures as required by individual student healthcare plans and physician instructions.4. Conduct routine health screenings including vision hearing and scoliosis.5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date student health records.6. Ensure confidentiality of all student health information in compliance with Massachusetts regulations.7. Support nursing coverage needs across the district by covering for other school nurses during planned and unplanned absences.8. Provide nursing care for students requiring 1:1 nursing support in the absence of assigned staff.9. Accompany students on field trips or provide in-school nursing coverage when other nurses attend trips.10. Collaborate with administrators families and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and effective communication.11. Perform other duties as reasonably assigned related to the scope of the school nursing role.12.
