Job Summary:
The City of Greeley is seeking an Accounting Clerk III - Accounts Payable. The Accounting Clerk III reports to the Accounting Manager and performs a wide variety of accounting clerical work including setting up and maintaining financial records in the Accounts Payable area. They will verify accuracy appropriate documentation and authorized approvals prior to processing payment requests from City departments to ensure compliance with City policies and procedures.
Experience Knowledge Skills:
Minimum Requirements
Three (3) years of progressively responsible clerical experience.
OR
Any combination of related education experience certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job
AND
Possession of a valid drivers license.
Preferred
Associates degree (two-year degree) in accounting business auditing or a related field.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to utilize a personal computer or laptop with word processing spreadsheet and related accounting software to effectively complete a variety of administrative tasks with reasonable speed and accuracy.
Ability to perform arithmetic algebraic and statistical applications to perform purchasing and financial transactions.
Intermediate ability to use and develop spreadsheets in Excel.
Knowledge of pertinent federal state and local rules regulations and laws.
Intermediate ability to use and develop spreadsheets in Excel.
Knowledge of the business and organizational structure of Colorado municipalities.
Collaboration skills including the ability to work with others from different areas and backgrounds to reach a common goal.
Computer skills including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook etc.) and learn and experiment with new software and systems.
Interpersonal skills including the ability to facilitate interaction communication and teamwork between others.
Oral written and listening communication skills including the ability to accurately interpret what others are saying and convey messages information concepts and details accurately and clearly.
Organizational skills including the ability to set and meet goals and deadlines manage appointments create schedules coordinate and facilitate meetings and make decisions.
