Job Description

GENERAL: Non Public school sites AND Title I NP and Title I ND based on the funding requires tutor positions serving Auxiliary Nonpublic school and/or Title I nonpublic schools (NP) or ND neglected/delinquent facilities the direction of the NPSS Supervisor.

CRITERIA
  • Knowledge of what the NPSS (Non-public Schools Services) Auxiliary Title I NP Title I ND (neglected and delinquent) programs are and why they exist
  • Valid Ohio elementary or secondary teaching certificate
  • Evidence of strong remediation instructional skills in Reading Math Science or other academic content as well as skills in fiscal and human resources including office information management
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain collegial cooperative relations with teachers tutors building and central office administrators parents and people in the community
  • Demonstrated knowledge of or willingness to learn Federal and State guidelines to help ensure compliance
  • Willingness to support and complete the NPSS Title I Part D guidelines and regulations
  • Knowledge of the process and procedure for establishing requisitions purchase orders and requests to attend professional conferences
  • Computer literacy

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop a collaborative working relationship with non-public school and Title I facility personnel
  • Develop a collaborative working relationship with CCS employees working at non-public school sites as well as with the NPSS staff
  • Help orient new NPSS staff members to all components of the NPSS program
  • Administer the Title I Reading and Math pre- and post-assessment to all students
  • Keep accurate enrollment attendance parent contact and pre-post-assessment records
  • Determine and use the equitable rank order process to select students under the cut score and who are in greatest need of assistance for service
  • Post and update an accurate schedule of students who are being served at any given time
  • Provide an appropriate grade-level instructional program in content area for identified students
  • Maintain lesson plans that show evidence of addressing the instructional needs of students served
  • Use a variety of strategies to motivate at-risk students in the active participation of the instructional program
  • Evaluate student progress and maintain individual records of student achievement
  • Maintain the Compliance Notebook current according to Federal Guidelines
  • Show evidence of parental involvement including timely student progress reports to parents
  • Generate purchase orders for instructional materials and supplies needed to fulfill the program goals
  • Maintain accurate inventory of materials purchased with federal funds for their assigned school
  • May be asked to drive a mobile classroom to and from assigned school upon request
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by the NPSS Supervisor
