Description
Responsible for providing innovative ideas that help increase production reduce costs and improve quality while keeping safety and environment in mind. Position reports to the Plant Manager and provides an interface with Production Quality Control Maintenance and Shipping/Receiving. Additional reporting to the Director of Manufacturing.
- Through data analysis and hands on approach works with support teams to identify solutions to problems and ideas for improvement.
- Collects data of key process indicators and manage existing database.
- Prepares reports and graphical representation to interpret data. Including standard deviation and process capability.
- Works with production department to identify key process variables to ensure product consistency.
- Conducts testing to prove theory.
- Constantly monitors work in process focusing on roll weight thickness granular adhesion roll lengths downtime and waste. Compares to established nominal parameters.
- Recommends equipment modifications or changes to existing standards based on findings from data.
- Helps enhance current record keeping practicesto improve in all aspects of operations.
- Facilitates continuous improvement culture within the plant.
- Develops process control flowdiagrams.
- Promotes the quality system through adhering to the elements of and being familiar with the philosophy quality statement quality manual and procedures.
- Promotes health safety and environmental regulation by ensuring that standards policies and procedures are adhered to in compliance with corporate federal state and local requirements.
- Be a self-starter and work independently.

- Requires proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and PowerPoint.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Analytical skills required.
- Must be able to write quality reports and present information to colleagues.
- Six Sigma a plus.
- Have a track record of project management for moderately complex projects.
- Have demonstrated the ability to manage internal and external customer relationships.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- SAP or AS-400 experience preferred.
- Five (5) years of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Understanding of MRP and scheduling preferred.
- Knowledge of the product line facility and production and lab equipment preferred.
- The Process Engineer will be located at the Winter Haven FL facility.
- Work environment varies from an office setting to periodic exposure to the typical elements in the manufacturing facilities ( moderate noise close proximity to semi-automated manufacturing equipment and hot and cold climates.)
- Must be able to work around hot asphalt tanks lines and pumps on an intermittent basis.
- Occasional lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to climb stairs often and ladders periodically.
- Travel as required for business purposes.
