The LA Conservation Corps (the Corps) is a private non-profit organization that has been helping at-risk young people develop themselves since 1986. To date more than 20000 young people have participated in the Corps classes and service projects learning new skills while contributing to the quality of life for all of us in the greater Los Angeles area.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager the Attendance Coach adds value to the organization and helps promote its mission by performing the requirements of the position with the highest level of integrity and respect for others. The Attendance Coach is responsible for clerical work involved in accurately maintaining attendance records and assisting Corpsmembers staff and management in all matters related to attendance.

Essential Functions

  • Receives and confirms attendance information by phone and/or email from sites noting necessary data to incorporate into attendance record keeping system.
  • Receives reviews and verifies a variety of forms and records for accuracy completeness and conformance to applicable rules regulations and procedures.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources Programs and Corpsmember Development departments to generate performance discussion and management forms. Responsible for generating disciplinary action forms related to attendance and sending them to the site(s) for completion.
  • Exercises discretion and maintains confidentiality in carrying out responsibilities.
  • Answers telephones in a timely friendly fashion; screen calls; return calls as directed with requested information; assist callers as able; completes tasks accurately and by their deadline; complete messages; forwards calls to other staff members as appropriate.
  • Performs daily record keeping activities required to maintain accurate attendance records and data files according to organization procedures.
  • Contacts Corpsmembers and staff to verify absences.
  • Provides daily attendance notifications/updates for sites; work closely with site staff.
  • Compiles statistical information related to attendance; prepares prints and distributes attendance reports and lists to management.
  • Updates computerized data files and records on a regular basis for information and notifies appropriate staff of variances in attendance patterns.
  • Files forms and correspondence; maintains confidentiality of records as assigned.
  • Plans schedules and arranges meetings. Schedules space arranges for/serves refreshments sends notices and receives responses.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

High School Diploma or equivalency from an accredited institution required; AND at least one (1) year of related experience in Human Resources; Previous experience in Paycom Paycom Applicant Tracking etc. and previous experience working in the non-profit or public sector preferred.

Other Requirements

  • Attend events and meetings in the community to support the program. This can involve working Saturdays or Sundays as needed.
  • California Class C Drivers License validation of driving record for commercial policy insurability per the requirements of the state of California.
  • Occasional use of private vehicle for company purposes; validation of driving record and approval of commercial policy insurability is required in conjunction with proof of personal minimum liability insurance coverage per the requirements of the State of California. Mileage will be reimbursed at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) standard mileage rate.
  • Pass a post-offer drug/alcohol screen test before commencing employment (required to submit for the drug/alcohol screening at a company designated facility)
  • Pass a post-offer Live Scan (fingerprint/background clearance-Department of Justice) before commencing employment.
  • Reference checks will be conducted. Employment is contingent upon receipt of acceptable references.

Salary and Benefits

  • $21.24 - $25.90/hour (reflects the entire pay range); a starting wage higher than $21.24 per hour is based on a level of experience and education that exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale (salary range).
