Job Description

IMPORTANT: Shift Hours for This Role Are 12.00 PM to 8.00PM Monday to Friday
This is a key requirement for the position and applicants must be available to work during these hours.
Flexibility is key to this role as occasional variations for site visits or urgent support needs may arise outside standard shift times.


Main Purpose of the Role:

The South Australia Operations Manager plays a critical role in supporting the State Manager with the planning coordination and delivery of high-quality cleaning services across the portfolio. The role is also an administrative champion ensuring that all operational compliance and reporting processes are maintained to support the smooth functioning of the South Australian operations. This role ensures operational standards are consistently met and exceeded contributing to team performance service excellence and business growth.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the backup Emergency Cleaner to achieve 0% missed cleans aligned with company vision.
  • Manage and fill sick and holiday relief shifts promptly.
  • Support payroll rosters and contribute to achieving budget targets.
  • Complete onboarding and initial training for new cleaning staff during site acquisitions and provide continuous upskilling for existing crew focused on operational excellence.
  • Champion and manage the Cleanworks All Star Training Academy to ensure every cleaner is a trained and supported All Star Crew member.
  • Conduct toolbox talks across the portfolio as directed.
  • Help with periodical cleaning as needed.
  • Support mobilisation and execution of new client contracts.
  • Ensure all cleaning staff comply with uniform and presentation standards.
  • Oversee and monitor Work Health and Safety (WHS) compliance across all sites.
  • Perform general administrative duties and act as an operational support hub for the State Manager.
  • Support recruitment training motivation and the development of a positive high-performing team culture.
  • Utilise and manage rostering software (e.g. Timegate or equivalent) for effective scheduling and shift planning.
  • Serve as an administrative champion ensuring accurate and timely reporting process adherence and document control.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of quotes and proposals for new business opportunities.
  • Conducting and coordinating Quality Assurance (QA) checks per client contracts and internal benchmarks.




Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 1 year of cleaning experience.
  • Certificate III in Cleaning (desirable).
  • Proven experience in an operations team leader or supervisory role preferably in the cleaning industry.
  • Strong knowledge of workforce rostering systems.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • High-level communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving attitude.
  • Ability to enforce grooming and presentation standards.
  • Solid understanding of WHS standards and ability to ensure site compliance.
  • Team-oriented innovative and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems.
  • Current valid driver s licence with flexibility to travel throughout Adelaide and regional South Australia.
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet evolving operational needs.

Ideally 2-3 years of school cleaning & maintenance experience With Full-Working Rights Must have good Communication skills. Attention to detail, take pride in your work. Recent Police Check. Working with Children Check Own a reliable vehicle.
