The Opportunity
Hitachi Energy is excited to welcome aSenior R&D Engineer HV Componentsto our newly established North America Regional Technology Center in Alamo TN. This is a unique opportunity to drive innovation in high-voltage transformer components contributing to the development of new products and enhancing existing ones to meet IEEE standards.

How Youll Make an Impact
- Lead development projects from concept to completion ensuring quality budget and timeline goals.
- Design and simulate new high-voltage products and technologies.
- Coordinate prototyping and testing to validate performance and reliability.
- Share R&D insights with production teams locally and globally.
- Provide technical expertise across departments including product management and sales.
- Participate in international standardization efforts and stay ahead of market trends.
- Support cost reduction initiatives using lean and six-sigma methodologies.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations procedures and guidelines.
Your Background
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Masters/PhD preferred.
- 5 years of engineering experience ideally in HV insulation or protection equipment.
- Strong project leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in CAD (e.g. Creo) simulation tools (e.g. Ansys COMSOL) and PLM systems.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% to Alamo TN if not local.
