The Director of Business Intelligence will be a core member of the IT Leadership Team and will gain expertise across multiple systems and provide guidance and hands on mentoring for the team. This level role will need to provide insights strategic thinking and guidance to the executive team and business units and functions about solutions and self-service tools that enable the business teams to obtain meaningful information that can be applied to improve their areas and the company. It is a highly visible role to the C-suite and requires excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
Co-develop and execute with the VP of IT and BI the overall business intelligence (BI) and data management strategy aligned with the organizations objectives
Develop and implement standards techniques technologies and methodologies for BI development to enable self service to critical information.
Lead and manage the Business Intelligence Analytics team. Provide coaching and mentoring in using standards techniques and methodologies.
Collaborate with IT leadership and key business partners across the company to define strategies and build solution and application roadmaps focused on supporting business needs that are scalable and resilient for future goals.
Lead the elimination of institutional data silos and synergistically enhance Quenchs ability to collect store extract and report data in a centralized format.
Oversee the transformation of raw data into actionable insights.
Develop recommend and implement high-level strategic and tactical solutions for business intelligence needs including dashboards reports and analytic tools and applications.
Oversee the development and ongoing evaluation of a centralized data infrastructure that stores Data in consistent and reliable formats for senior leadership accessibility.
Manage projects and ensure proper team usage of documentation throughout project and development lifecycle.
Mine data interpret results present findings and make recommendations and guiding team members to develop these skills.
Liaise between business stakeholder requirements and development team activities. Translate and prepare the requested work to be completed by either internal or 3rd party resources.
Recommend and implement best practices data governance program.
Stay informed of new products and technologies and evaluate recommend and implement appropriate technologies to enhance the organizations data capabilities.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business Information Systems or specialized training/certification
Deep expertise in SQL and query optimization
Proficient in Microsoft Power BI and other BI common tools
10 years of related work experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst or Manager with cross departmental functional knowledge
10 years of experience in designing developing and supporting ETL BI and data solutions
5 years experience with Python programming language
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud platform solutions
Experience in performance tuning for data pipelines and best practices in orchestration
Strong knowledge of data governance data quality and data integration principles
In-depth understanding of business intelligence tools data warehousing and analytics technologies
Expert in designing and implementing robust data models that optimize data warehousing and business intelligence systems ensuring scalability accuracy and efficiency in data management
Experienced in utilizing APIs for seamless data ingestion and integration
Strong organizational and leadership skills and experience
Experience with Agile software development environment
Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
Excellent communication and time management skills
Willing to take initiative and be innovative
Consultative and customer-service-oriented in nature in working with the functional teams
Able to anticipate identify and solve problems through root cause analysis to deliver practical timely solutions
Able to communicate complex data concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
Able to collaborate and communicate effectively with business stakeholders / other IT team members
Minimum of 3 years as a manager
