Working in the small but supportive specialist Postural Management Team based at Kirkcaldy Town House working with people with complex Postural Management needs and their carers. The post is full time permanent working 36 hrs per week Monday to Friday. The post will be based in the specialist postural management service in Kirkcaldy but will cover the whole of Fife.
You will be required to contribute to the management and development of Postural management within the Community Occupational Therapy Service and delivering on providing training and guidance for carers. You will provide professional support for team members and OTs and Physiotherapists across the Fife Health and Social Care partnership. Provide outcome focussed intervention that has a positive impact on occupational performance. You will be required to undertake postural management assessments using clinical reasoning to make reliable professional judgements with a high level of autonomy to identify appropriate seating and lying postural care solutions.

The Person
You will have a sound working knowledge and at least two years experience of working with people with complex Postural Management needs and their carers with in depth knowledge of how poor posture can impact upon an individuals functional ability general health and quality of life. The successful candidate will be required to provide mentoring and support to Occupational Therapists to promote and support the development of knowledge skills and effective practice to effect positive impact on the occupational performance of service users/patients.
Applicants will be required to have a recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy at a minimum of SCQF level 9 as well as significant experience in postural management assessment and interventions. Applicants must also be registered with Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). Ability to travel within Fife is essential.
Before confirming your appointment you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
