  • Full-time and fixed-term until December 2026
  • HEW 8 $118801 - $% Superannuation
  • This position is open to all current Ongoing Fixed term and Casual Deakin staff only

About this role:

As the Senior Coordinator Academic Initiatives you will play a pivotal role within the Academic Workforce program in the Faculty Services Division. This position is central to designing and delivering sustainable solutions that respond to the changing needs of Deakins academic workforce. Collaborating with senior leaders and project teams youll drive improvements in planning governance and delivery of initiatives such as decasualisation and academic workload processes. Your work will streamline processes remove barriers and enhance the academic experience aligning with Deakins focus on excellence inclusion and a sustainable workforce.

As a Senior Coordinator Academic Initiatives you will:

  • Lead end-to-end business improvement projects and continuous improvement initiatives within the Faculty Services Division and across the university.
  • Engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to define problems clarify goals and deliver inclusive sustainable solutions.
  • Facilitate research governance design communication and implementation activities using university frameworks and best practices.
  • Analyse complex issues translate them into clear actions and coach others to challenge assumptions and drive meaningful change.
  • Promote capability-building through training clear communication and ongoing support to embed improvements and achieve strategic objectives.

To be successful youll have:

  • Experience in a Faculty or school within the University
  • Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and management expertise; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience supporting projects within a large scale and complex organisation.
  • Knowledge of systems process and business improvement capabilities.
