YOUR MISSION:

As an engineer youll take on meaningful challenges from distributed systems to low-latency pipelines and help solve problems the industry hasnt cracked yet. As a Senior Backend Engineer (f/m/d)* on the Skills team you will work on a marketplace of tools and integrations which Parloas agents leverage via MCP. Managed access to business systems dramatically increases their value while controlling for security and risk. You havent worked with our stack Thats fine! We would love to get in touch as long as you are open to learn and code in Typescript.
Parloa has an office-first approach. Our team is usually in the office 2-3 days a week.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
- Design build and maintain secure and scalable backend services
- Optimize system performance for low latency high throughput and reliability
- Collaborate across teams to integrate machine learning components into production systems
- Lead technical initiatives - design planning implementation and maintenance (3-9 months horizon)
- Drive initiatives to improve operational excellence
- Contribute to the evolution of our architecture and engineering culture
Our Tech stack:
Typescript NodeJS OpenAI Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Docker Terraform MongoDB MySQL Redis Kafka MCP
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
- 7 years of experience as a software engineer
- Experience in Typescript Node (ideally NestJS); or experience with comparable frameworks in other languages and a willingness to learn and code in Typescript
- Experience with developing and maintaining highly scalable and reliable microservices
- Deep understanding of distributed systems event-driven architectures and APIs
- Experience with cloud-native infrastructure (e.g. Kubernetes GCP/AWS)
- A bias for action strong ownership and a passion for clean pragmatic code
- Experience in leading technical projects (3-9 months horizon)
- Strong spoken and written communication skills in English
- Curiosity and openness to work with AI-assisted coding tools
