Role Overview
Hillels of Georgia seeks a creative and outgoing professional with strong interpersonal communication and project management skills to serve as the Director of Leadership. This individual will be a team player with an entrepreneurial spirit and a proven track record of working with students to enhance leadership development. They will be a natural relationship builder with experience in leadership development supervision education and/or entrepreneurship complemented by a passion for Jewish life and involvement in the Jewish community.
Working within a dynamic Hillels of Georgia leadership team the Director of Leadership will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive student engagement and leadership strategy to reach Hillels of Georgia Jewish student population. A core aspect of the role involves creating the curriculum and launching our brand-new Leven-Silberman Leadership Institute. Collaborating closely with campus teams the Director will engage students to create opportunities for building strong and vibrant Jewish communities. Another core aspect of this position will be the supervision of five full-time and one part-time campus directors providing them with support and growth opportunities. This position requires both independent initiative and teamwork to foster meaningful student connections and leadership growth.
What Youll Do
Leven-Silberman Leadership Institute
- In collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer and Hillels of Georgia senior leadership determine vision goals and outcomes for the Leven-Silberman Leadership Institute and its Fellowship Program.
- Craft the curriculum and programming for the Leven-Silberman Leadership Institute as well as launch the inaugural cohort. Plan and staff at least two immersive leadership retreats per academic year.
- Serve as the direct staff and point of contact for the Leven-Silberman Leaderships Fellows.
- Plan and execute alumni and community engagement including networking events and mentorships for student leaders.
Staff Supervision
- Supervise and mentor five full-time and one part-time campus directors equipping them with the skills needed to succeed.
- Conduct weekly supervision of each staff member implementing performance tracking supportive culture and Jewish leadership into their work.
- Create annual performance plans for each supervisee including mid and full-year performance reviews weekly 1x1s professional development plans etc.
- Participate in ongoing Jewish learning and professional development.
Student Engagement
- Along with campus directors directly advise and support our campus student leadership boards
- Build relationships! Form deeper connections through listening and empathy to learn more about students and their Jewish journeys.
- Identify and nurture emerging leaders in the Jewish community on our campuses in collaboration with our campus teams and create opportunities to develop their skills.
- Collaborate with senior staff and campus directors to craft and implement an annual plan for engagement programming and education.
- Empower student leaders by equipping them with the training tools and resources to create impactful programs while implementing a strategic outcomes-driven leadership development curriculum for Hillels of Georgia.

- Enthusiastic about collaborating and contributing as part of a large dynamic staff team
What Youll Bring to the Job
- A bachelors degree and at least 4-6 years in Jewish non-profit work experiential or higher education.
- Knowledge of what makes people tick - you can connect peoples passions and interests to Hillels mission.
- Comfort in managing teams as well as working independently and collaboratively.
- An entrepreneurial spirit - things may not always go according to plan but you understand that ambiguity is part of developing great new opportunities.
- A commitment to pluralism and comfort with your Jewish identity so you may act as a role model and mentor for emerging Jewish adults.
- Demonstrated experience supervising a professional staff team.
- Comfort in managing teams as well as working independently and collaboratively.
- Experience developing staff through ongoing professional development and mentorship

- Competitive compensation in the nonprofit marketplace. The range for this position is $100000-$130000.
