About the role:
Reporting to the Manager Training & Development the Senior Lead Training and Development Mine Operations is responsible for the overseeing and coordinating training initiatives across both regional and site operations. This role demands exemplary hands-on leadership to guide and support training teams throughout the region while also serving as a key member of the senior leadership team at the Coal Mountain Training Campus. The primary objective is to promote best practices and drive the standardization in Mine Operations training programs. Success in this role requires a strategic approach to training a strong commitment to safety and the ability to inspire and lead a dynamic team effectively.
To be successful in this role we are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal communication skills who can lead coach and collaborate effectively across teams. Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience with the ability to coach and mentor others effectively is essential. The successful individual is highly organized adaptable and capable of managing multiple priorities with strong attention to detail and a learner-focused approach.
In this role you will have the opportunity to guide the training team to deliver results. You are responsible for the overall success of the site training program as well as being a representative of the broader EVR training team in the development of minimum standards best practices and standardization of training results across all our sites.

In this role you will:
- Act as a courageous safety leader adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Lead the development implementation and continuous improvement of comprehensive training and development strategies to drive operational excellence
- Ensure all training programs align with corporate standards by applying consistent instructional design principles and regularly evaluating their effectiveness
- Design and deliver proficiency-based training programs derived from safe work procedures incorporating simulator training classroom instruction and hands-on fieldwork with a focus of driving best practice and standardization across the region
- Explore and implement innovative and efficient instructional methods and technologies to improve learning employee engagement and retention
- Develop and maintain performance evaluation systems to assess training effectiveness in relation to safety productivity and operational readiness
- Collaborate with departmental leaders to assess talent development needs increase workforce versatility and track training progress and employee readiness
- Lead the implementation of standardized training programs and ensure consistency in content delivery documentation and compliance across the region
Requirements:
- Minimum ten years practical experience in an industrial mine operations environment
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent
- Minimum of two years proven experience developing and delivering consistent effective training programs for employees and new hires with a focus on mine operations
- Technologically proficient with strong digital literacy skilled in writing content development and electronic presentations
$137000 - $170000 a year
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidates relevant experience skills and competencies and considers internal equity.
