The Events & Venues Manager is responsible for organizing and executing wedding events primarily supporting the 220 North Tyron event space rental business. This role is dedicated to providing the highest level of service to event clients team members and other key partners. Most of the work is self-directed allowing independent judgment in managing events for clients as well as overseeing event facilities and equipment.


The Events & Venues Manager is also responsible for supervising external vendors and contracted event staff. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive final impression with clients. You will collaborate closely with the Carolina Theatre the Senior Manager of Events and Venues the Assistant Event Manager security personnel event contractors and others involved in the event planning and execution process.


Your daily responsibilities include:

  • Manage events in Tripleseat scheduling system.
  • Execute events at 220 North Tryon and the Carolina Theatre.
  • Responsible for prompt and thorough client communication throughout entire process
  • Assume responsibility for wedding events from the VP of Events and Venues 30 days prior overseeing final planning walkthroughs client communication layout and timeline finalization and coordination of staffing and alcohol..
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on wedding days providing personalized support and guidance throughout the planning and execution process.
  • Submit invoices to client and ensure all invoices are paid in full prior to closing out the event
  • Manage all contracted event staff on the day of the event.
  • Facilitate the execution of client events either directly or through contracted staff
  • Assist with the execution of FFTC special events as needed.
  • Manage event bar including initial pull closing and restocking.
  • Cultivate vendor relations in all aspects of hospitality industry
  • Take over existing Corporate and Nonprofit event clients from the VP Events and Venues prior to the event to ensure a smooth transition and seamless execution.
  • Lead final planning and execution of select Corporate and Nonprofit events


Requirements
  • 3 or more years event planning experience
  • Ability to work early mornings evenings and weekends
  • Facility management experience is a plus
  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Knowledge of industry-related vendors and practices
  • Responsive service-oriented work style
  • Entrepreneurially motivated
  • Strong organizational & scheduling skills and ability to multitask
  • Able to physically meet the demands of event execution
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to communicate with clients employees management and contractors
  • Team player
Salary Description
$60000/year depending on experience
