As an Experience Designer youll have the opportunity to help shape and impact experiences for our employees and customers. In the day-to-day the role focuses on a range of different areas: product sales systems staff processes and interface UIs including in-store PDAs workstations and third-party vendor apps. You will support various functions across JB (including IT Engineering Marketing Merch Services and Store Operations) to ultimately drive user engagement customer satisfaction and loyalty. Armed with research insights and product data your ultimate motivation is to craft great experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to end-to-end experiences from ideation to customer journey maps and digital touchpoints that contribute to solving unique business and technical problems.
- Collaborate closely with Business Analysts and developers to co-design experiences taking account of business value and technical complexity of design choices.
- Apply the just-enough principal to your work always looking for the sweet-spot between effort and value.
- Create wireframes and prototypes for user research testing and analysis.
- Work with business and development team stakeholders to help conduct discovery workshops gather requirements understand pain points opportunities and challenges.
- Assist your IT Engineering squad to hypothesise develop prototypes test and execute solutions for unique business and technical problems.
Qualifications :
- 12 years experience as a UX/UI designer in an agile environment gained through a full-time role or internship.
- Some formal foundation training in UX or similar from a recognised course or institution or equivalent experience.
- A portfolio showcasing a variety of user experience design projects across different users business problems and devices (strong mobile experience favoured).
- Strong working knowledge of human-centred design principles
- Experience in conducting user research and usability tests.
- Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organisational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity in designing artefacts such as journey maps task models wireframes interactive prototypes and final UI designs for development.
- Ability to communicate design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and parts of the organisation.
- Some experience collaborating with full-stack back-end and front-end developers as well as business analysts and quality analysts.
- Experience with design and collaboration tools such as Figma and Miro
- Experienced in retail environments utilising point-of-sale systems to process transactions build customer baskets manage stock orders and capture customer information efficiently.
- Bonus: Familiarity with designing data-heavy application
