Senior Generator Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise and direct the work of assigned service technicians within geographic territory
• Evaluate performance provide coaching and feedback and develop training programs to improve technical knowledge and overall performance of assigned technicians
• Identify and assign team members to provide field support and mentorship to other service technicians
• Partner with Service Director to resolve employee performance or behavioral issues and determine staffing needs
• Participate in recruiting and hiring of field service technicians
• Serve as first point of contact for phone and field support including troubleshooting emergency repair assistance and parts delivery; escalate complex issues to Service Director as needed
• Conduct preventive maintenance emergency maintenance startup troubleshooting repair and maintenance of generators and related equipment
• Make pre-startup site visits to advise and assist installing contractors
• Lead safety initiatives and oversight for all technicians in assigned geography ensuring compliance with safety protocols
• Execute Quality Control programs within assigned geographic territory working with Technical Service Manager to implement QC procedures and ensure proper documentation
• Support Service Manager in reviewing work orders at all stages of project execution
• Drive and promote continuous improvement of field operations
• Provide customer-focused support to enhance customer relationships and resolve concerns
• Support planning and quoting of complex service projects
• Assist Service Director with Generac warranty process administration
• Advise service operations team on time and materials needed for various service levels
