Job Duties & Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Support & Instruction- Provide individualized and small-group support in literacy math writing and executive functioning for gifted and twice-exceptional students across a range of developmental levels.
- Deliver targeted interventions using research-based methodsincluding Orton-Gillingham structured math supports and executive functioning coachingto address specific learning needs.
- Administer and interpret diagnostic and formative assessments to monitor progress and inform instructional strategies.
- Identify students who may benefit from additional academic or behavioral support through close collaboration with classroom teachers and administrators.
- Foster student growth in self-awareness metacognition and self-advocacy supporting confidence and independence as learners.
- Use a combination of push-in and pull-out models to reinforce and differentiate instruction in core academic settings.
- Track and support academic and executive functioning goals through regular progress monitoring and adjustment of supports.
Collaboration & Consultation- Partner with classroom teachers to co-create and implement differentiated strategies and accommodations aligned with individual student learning profiles.
- Participate actively in student support meetings to collaboratively identify needs and develop support plans.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide timely constructive feedback to inform teaching practices and student supports.
- Interpret psychoeducational evaluations and translate findings into actionable classroom strategies and individualized learning plans (ILPs).
- Maintain and update student learning profiles and ILPs in collaboration with teachers families and specialists
- Serve as a liaison between school families and outside providers to ensure consistency of supports across settings.
- Facilitate both verbal and written communication around student growth including contributing to progress reports and family conferences.
- Contribute to ongoing professional learning by leading training in areas such as Universal Design for Learning (UDL) executive functioning and differentiation for gifted and twice-exceptional learners.
QualificationsRequired:- Bachelors degree in education special education or a related field
- Minimum 35 years of experience working with elementary and/or middle school students with learning differences
- Knowledge of learning profiles including dyslexia dysgraphia ADHD autism and twice-exceptionality
- Experience designing and delivering differentiated instruction and interventions
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Comfort with assistive technology and digital learning tools
Preferred:- Masters degree in special education learning disabilities or reading instruction
- Specialized training in Orton-Gillingham Wilson or equivalent structured literacy training
- Experience interpreting and applying psychoeducational assessment data
- Experience in progressive or independent school environments
- Familiarity with executive functioning coaching Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and SEL integration
Schedule: Mondays Tuesdays Thursdays and Fridays9:00 AM - 12:00 PM with some flexibility
Salary- Salary is competitive and will be determined based on experience.
