Job Description

Coffeyville Regional Medical Center or CRMC is a 25-bednon-profit critical access hospital serving Southeast Kansas and Northeast Oklahoma since 1949. As a rural hospital CRMC is surprising because of its large size and wide variety of services. GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Financial Assistant provides administrative and operational support to CRMCs Revenue Cycle and Financial Office assisting the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Senior Director of Finance/Controller in their coordination with executive leadership providers and staff. S/he will be proactive meet deadlines and communicate effectively to provide high-quality administrative and clerical assistance to our top-level executives.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Create regular reports and update internal databases upon direction for cost reporting purposes
  • Assist with relaying information regarding insurance and provider credentialing items
  • Develops and/or coordinates Finance projects to their conclusion and implement processes to ensure ongoing financial reporting needs are met upon direction
  • Provide variance analysis monthly to support the month-end financial statement close process
  • Familiarity with General Accounting Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Assist with Patient Account worklists and account checks to ensure accuracy of claim submittals to our clearinghouse
  • Provide administrative support to the department by cross-training with the Executive Assistant as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy

The Financial Assistant assumes other responsibilities as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with others
  • Detail-oriented with proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others
  • Knowledge of office procedures
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Ability to utilize both verbal and written communication to support all areas of the job

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • H.S. Diploma G.E.D. or equivalent work experience in field required
  • College degree preferred
  • Experience in office setting preferred
  • Proven experience in a Financial Assistant role preferred
  • Experience in healthcare billing preferred
  • Experience with Meditech or other similar EMR preferred
