Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Plan and implement appropriate physical education curriculum for elementary students in the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual physical emotional and psychological growth and maturation. Develop and carry out clear organized and developmentally appropriate lessons and learning activities based on clear objectives through the creation of long and short-range plans for instruction to meet needs abilities and interests of students. Vary and pace classroom strategies to accommodate different learning styles actively involve students and maximize student engagement in meaningful learning. Implement district and state curriculum standards to ensure that instructional activities are clearly related to district/state curriculum standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:specific curriculum content for subject area.
Skilled in: lesson plan development implementation of learning activities behavior management assessment and teaching to individual student skill levels.
Ability to:communicate orally and in writing and build relationships with students parents and staff. Ability to communicate with Spanish speaking students and parents preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience preferred but not required.
EDUCATION:
Completion of a higher education bachelors degree or masters degree in education/ teaching.
CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
A valid teaching license issued by the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission with proper endorsements for subjects and grade level assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Language Skills:
Ability to read English and comprehend complex technical language. Ability to write memoranda correspondence lessons plans reports and student achievement summaries in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-to-one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations with a high degree of accuracy.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but basic written or oral instructions in English. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work collaboratively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers supervisor(s) staff students parents and community.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk and may be continuously required to stand. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing the duties of this job. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp tools. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The employee may be required to sit at a desk and use a computer for long periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Works in a school environment. Able to use a telephone operate a computer and use other office equipment. Able to drive to other program sites and meetings.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year in accordance with negotiated agreement between licensed teachers and the district.
CLASSIFICATION:
Full-timeprobationaryposition location TBD.

Work Hours:
8 hours per day; Contract days and start date TBD based on upcoming licensed contract negotiations of 2025-2026 contract.

Salary range TBD based on upcoming licensed contract negotiations of 2025-2026 contract. (2024-2025 salary range $48741 - $100225).
