The HR Business Partner will be a key member of the U.S. HR team responsible for developing and driving HR priorities that support critical strategic objectives.
This role requires strong partnership with business leaders to translate organizational needs into impactful HR strategies programs and systems. The ideal candidate will balance strategic leadership with hands-on HR support helping shape a culture rooted in AES values and aligned with business success.
This is a true HR generalist rolesupporting a wide range of people-related needs including talent planning employee relations organizational development and change management. While HR Business Partners at AES may rotate their support across different functions over time the initial focus for this role will be supporting our Finance and Digital teams.
Qualifications:
5 years of experience in Human Resources with a proven ability to partner with business leaders to develop solutions and drive outcomes.
Experience in a union environment and/or supporting labor agreements is a plus but not required.
Experience in the energy industry preferred or demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
Bachelors degree required.
Strong written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and fast-paced environments.
Confident presence with the ability to engage constructively with leaders at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to lead change and influence adoption of new practices.
Experience developing and delivering HR programs.
Broad understanding of HR disciplines and their business value.
High level of discretion and ability to manage confidential information.
Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
Strategic thinker with an understanding of business drivers and operational dynamics.
Agile and adaptable to shifting priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders providing guidance on a wide range of HR topics including performance development engagement and organizational design.
Implement people programs and tools advising leaders on key actions and ensuring completion of core HR processes.
Use talent analytics to guide decision-making and drive positive outcomes.
Build and lead workforce plans to meet current and future talent needs.
Partner with HR Centers of Expertise and HR Operations to deliver solutions.
Leverage talent market insights to inform acquisition strategies.
Promote and implement diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Identify development needs and support learning strategies for supported teams.
Serve as a point of escalation and subject matter expert for employee relations issues.
May support labor relations activities including guidance on labor agreement administration grievance resolution and preparation for negotiations or arbitration.
Act as an ambassador of the AES employer brand and culture.
Collaborate with internal communications to ensure timely and effective messaging.
Support change management initiatives as needed.
