Description


Position Overview

The focus of this position provides and supports the operational and cost accounting functions of the company. Responsibilities include partnering with IT Product teams Sales and Operational partners to improve business insights by accounting for operational activities while supporting the accumulation and analysis of data for management as it relates to business decisions. This is a supervisory role.


Responsibilities

Accounting:

Consolidation Accounting Support & Intercompany Billing/Eliminations for retail divisions

Review and implement new financial policies

Manage Retail Entity month end close process

Facilitates financial improvement processes

Facilitates improvements of internal controls

Manage Annual Audit and Quarterly Review Processes


Reporting:

Ensure reported results comply with GAAP/IFRS

Monthly review of financial and operational reporting packages

Assists with providing responses to parent company inquiries and reporting requirements

Maintain and create reports as needed


Budgeting Planning and Forecasting:

Assists in developing the annual budget and operating plan

Assists in maintains monthly and quarterly P&L forecast

Assist in maintaining rolling 12-month forecast

Facilitates the cash forecasting


Analysis:

Provides business analysis to identify financial and business trends designed to mitigate risk

Provides recommendations to improve business and financial performance

Active team member on multiple business improvement projects

Develop procedures to improve financial practices

Provide on-going support for business financial analysis needs

Facilitate business and financial improvement within organization


Management:

Responsible for staffing terminations disciplinary actions training and development of supporting Finance team members

Conduct quarterly check ins with direct reports for performance management and coaching

Drive team to succeed in reaching productivity and quality goals to meet/exceed customer need


Other projects as assigned


Requirements

Education:

4-year degree in Accounting is required

Additional education such as MBA or CPA a plus


Experience:

Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in an Accounting management capacity

Audit experience desired either internal or independent CPA firm

Experience in a retail business environment desired

Minimum of 4 years in a supervisory role required

Developing standard operating processes & procedures required

CPA CMA a plus


Other Requirements:

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including PowerPivot pivot tables Vlookup VBA Macros etc.)

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal able to clearly communicate financial information in easy to understand manner at multiple levels and functions within the business.

Strong system skills experience with SAP BW Adaptive Insights and Iridium preferred

Firm analytical skills to understand business drivers that link operational performance to financial results

Clear problem solving and investigative skills support a lean environment Six Sigma Certification a plus

Excellent organizational and prioritization skills

Fitness Equipment Industry experience with focus on direct and/or wholesale distribution desired

Requires drivers license for moderate travel to regional retail offices (approx. 25%)

Computer skills: SAP BW Excel PowerPoint Word Adaptive Insights Access Iridium or another POS system

Demonstrated effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills

Confidence in presenting ideas and recommendations

Strong sense of initiative demonstrated by accomplishing tasks; improving current work processes; and assisting others when necessary

Ability to manage and motivate staff

Able to project a positive and professional demeanor to all internal and external contacts
