Welding Liaison & Outreach Specialist

Job Title: Welding Liaison & Outreach Specialist

Department: Instruction-Workforce Division

Reports To: Sr. Vice President of Instruction

Coordinates With: Dean of Workforce Programs and Vice President of Dual Credit

FLSA Status: Exempt (Part-Time)

Work Location: Ranger College Campus(es) Regional High Schools & Industry Partners

Salary: Part-Time; Salary TBD

Position Summary

Ranger College seeks a motivated and skilled Welding Liaison & Outreach Specialist to serve as the key connector between our welding programs regional high schools and local industry. This part-time position focuses on student success dual credit coordination industry outreach and compliance with state standards.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Sr. Vice President of Instruction and work collaboratively with the Dean of Workforce Programs and Vice President of Dual Credit to ensure that Ranger College welding and CTE pathways are accessible relevant and impactful.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Student and Program Coordination

- Monitor student progress in dual credit welding and CTE courses.

- Document student progression schedules facility usage and certifications earned (e.g. AWS).

- Provide proactive support to resolve academic or logistical issues.

- Maintain open communication between partner high schools and the College.

- Ensure alignment with THECB and WECM standards in all course offerings.

- Prepare update and manage records of CTE dual credit partnerships and student data.

Outreach & Industry Engagement

- Represent Ranger College at high school events recruitment fairs and industry functions.

- Promote welding and skilled trades to students parents school personnel and community stakeholders.

- Cultivate relationships with local employers and workforce boards to support internships apprenticeships and job placement opportunities.

General & Administrative

- Support promotional efforts including gathering student success stories and assisting with marketing initiatives.

- Coordinate with the Dean of Workforce and VP of Dual Credit to maintain program relevance and responsiveness.

- Attend meetings provide feedback for grant reporting and participate in college-wide events as needed.

- Perform other duties as assigned by the Sr. VP of Instruction.

Required Qualifications

- Associate degree in Welding Technology Workforce Development or related fieldor equivalent industry experience.

- Or 3 years experience in welding workforce/CTE education or dual credit programming.

- Excellent communication organization and relationship management skills.

- Willingness to travel throughout Ranger Colleges service region and work occasional evenings or weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

- AWS certification or welding instruction experience.

- Experience working with high school faculty students and/or dual credit partnerships and industry partners.

- Familiarity with THECB and WECM standards and Texas dual credit regulations.

Work Schedule & Conditions

- This is a part-time position (estimated 1520 hours/week).

- Frequent regional travel to high schools job fairs industry partners and college campuses is required.

- Work will include administrative tasks site visits to welding labs and community outreach.
