Duties and Responsibilities
1. Review research reports to assess their scientific rigor clarity and adherence to
editorial guidelines and standards. Identify any inconsistencies inaccuracies or gaps in
content that require clarification or revision.
2. Edit research reports for grammar syntax clarity and style to ensure readability and
adherence to the appropriate scientific language conventions.
3. Verify the accuracy of scientific data references citations and terminology used in
the manuscript; cross-reference information with relevant sources to confirm its validity
and reliability.
4. Organize and restructure the manuscript as needed to improve logical flow
coherence and coherence of arguments. Offer suggestions for enhancing the structure
organization and presentation of content to enhance reader comprehension.
5. Collaborate with authors researchers and editorial teams to address feedback
incorporate revisions and resolve any queries or concerns regarding the manuscript..
6. Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure that all the revisions have been accurately
implemented and that the final report meets the publications standards.
7. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to tight deadlines for manuscript
submission peer review and publication; effectively prioritize tasks to ensure timely
delivery of high-quality edited research reports.Minimum Qualification
Education and Professional Work Experience
- Bachelors degree or higher in communication studies and/or scientific discipline (e.g. biology engineering environmental sciences etc.).
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience in editing preferably in an academic or publishing environment.
- A strong understanding of the scientific research methods employed in environmental biology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in using editing software/tools (e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel Adobe and/or Canvas).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team-based environment.
- Highly organized adaptable and capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Desirable Qualifications
1. Functional knowledge of principles practices and techniques used in water research demonstrated by knowledge understanding and ability to apply principles concepts methodology and terminology.

3. Basic understanding of biostatistics.
