Salary: Up to 27.00 per hour (depending on level of experience training and qualification)
The Highfield Hospital has recently been awarded OUTSTANDING by the CQC.
We have an opportunity for a Clinical Specialist to join their team of staff in thePhysiotherapy department.
This is a bank role working on an as and when required basis you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate autonomous management of a variety of hand and wrist conditions including conservative management and post operative elective care. They also need to demonstrate competency in the design fabrication and fitting of custom and prefabricated static splints for various conditions and stages of healing.
Duties of this role include:
- Undertake specialist assessment and treatment of patients with complex hand injuries post-surgical conditions fractures and chronic upper limb dysfunctions.
- Develop and implement highly specialised treatment plans including splinting scar management exercise programmes and functional rehabilitation.
- Lead the hand therapy service acting as the key clinical expert within the physiotherapy and occupational therapy teams.
- Work closely with orthopaedic consultants plastic surgeons nurses and other allied health professionals to deliver coordinated and effective care.
- Deliver teaching training and supervision to therapy colleagues students and other healthcare staff.
- Ensure high standards of record keeping clinical documentation and outcome tracking in line with professional and organisational requirements.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- HCPC-registered Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.
- Extensive post-registration experience in musculoskeletal or upper limb rehabilitation.
- Proven expertise in hand therapy including splinting post-surgical care and conservative management.
- Excellent clinical reasoning communication and teaching skills.
- Experience leading or developing specialist services.
