Job Description

About the Y Northern Territory (Y NT):

At the Y NT we are dedicated to helping children young people and communities thrive. Whether through our Early Learning Centres Outside Hours School Care Recreation Centres Aquatic facilities Youth Programs Remote Pools program or Hostel we are committed to supporting Territorians in becoming connected educated resilient and healthy.

The Opportunity:

As a Finance Business Partner you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health and performance of the Y Northern Territory. Working closely with the Financial Controller youll bring data to life helping operational teams make sound financial decisions manage grant funding maintain assets and ensure strong internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver timely high-quality financial reports and insights
  • Support budget forecast and financial modelling processes
  • Monitor grant funding and prepare acquittals
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and manage asset lifecycle
  • Provide analysis for strategic decision-making and risk management
  • Drive financial literacy and accountability across the organisation
  • Assist with audits controls and financial governance

About You:

  • Minimum 2 years in finance or accounting
  • Degree-qualified (or working towards) in accounting finance or business
  • Proficient in Excel and financial systems (QuickBooks Online highly regarded)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Driven organised and passionate about community impact
  • Willingness to travel within the Northern Territory
  • NT C Class Driver Licence

Mandatory Requirements:

YMCA including its Boards of Directors are committed to the safety and well-being of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding Children and Young People framework. YMCA requires that all applicants undergo satisfactory screening prior to commencement including but not limited to:

Valid Working with Children Clearance.

Satisfactory Criminal History Check.

Any successfully appointed applicant will be required to adhere to the Safeguarding Children and Young People framework which includes a thorough safeguarding children and young people induction and a commitment to upholding the safety and wellbeing of children and young people throughout their engagement with YMCA.
