Position Summary

The Department of Speech-Language Pathology at Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon WI is seeking applicants for a part-time Adjunct Clinical Instructor of Speech-Language Pathology with expertise in adult neurogenic communication disorders starting in the Fall 2025 semester.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical education and supervision to SLP graduate students assigned to the Adult Neuro Clinic at the CUW Speech-Language Hearing Clinic averaging approximately 8 hours per week typically over two days.
  • Guide mentor and observe graduate students as they develop and deliver evidence-based assessment and intervention for adults with neurogenic communication disorders.
  • Facilitate clinical learning through weekly teaching sessions focused on applied concepts and client-care discussion.
  • Support student growth through individualized feedback guided reflection and targeted skill development.
  • Conduct formative and summative evaluations to assess clinical competency and professional development.
  • Review and approve student clinical documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system ensuring accuracy completeness and compliance with professional and program standards.
  • Ensure adherence to all documentation confidentiality and compliance requirements established by the CUW Department of Speech-Language Pathology including but not limited to HIPAA and ASHA standards.
  • Collaborate with clinical faculty and staff to support student learning patient care and clinic operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the mission of the clinic and academic program.
  • All other duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Strong background in service provision for adult neurogenic communication disorders and evidence-based intervention practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective clinical instruction feedback and collaboration
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to foster student growth through mentoring reflective practice and clinical reasoning support
  • Proficiency in clinical documentation and use of electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and engagement in the field of medical speech-language pathology
  • Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)

Education and Experience

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
  • Hold ASHA certification (CCC-SLP)
  • Possess of current Wisconsin state DSPS license. WI DPI license optional.
  • Have at least three-years of clinical experience in adult medical settings such as hospitals skilled nursing facilities or outpatient clinics.
  • Must have completed or be willing to complete two ASHA approved continuing education (CE) hours related to clinical instruction/supervision prior to assuming this position
  • Clinical education and supervision experience preferred
