Chemistry Teaching Assistant Position (Sept - Dec 2025)

Colorado Academy seeks a Chemistry Teaching Assistant to support an experienced Chemistry teacher who will be on intermittent leave from September through December in the 2025-2026 school year. This unique opportunity offers aspiring educators the chance to learn from a master teacher while gaining hands-on classroom experience as well as offering greater flexibility and a collaborative teaching approach to experienced educators seeking time in a classroom.

Position Overview

The Teaching Assistant will work closely with our experienced Chemistry teacher serving as the solo instructor approximately every three weeks for one-week periods with the longest solo teaching period lasting 2-3 weeks. This position provides an excellent balance of mentorship and independent teaching responsibility.

Teaching Responsibilities

• Assist with AP Chemistry Chemistry
• Lead classroom instruction during the mentor teachers leave periods
• Implement established curriculum with guidance and support
• Participate in lesson planning and curriculum development

• Strong content knowledge and confidence in Chemistry
• Experience training and/or demonstrated interest in teaching science at the secondary level

The pay for the full-time equivalent of this position is$63200 - $113900 actual compensation will be prorated based on time commitment. Although this is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any wage differential that may exist for the position does not relate to sex gender or gender identity but relates solely to a seniority system a merit system or relevant education training and/or experience.
