Yukon Equipment specializes in sales of new and used construction equipment repairs rentals parts and service. Find everything you need for backhoes excavators skid steers wheel loaders bulldozers equipment trailers forklifts and tractors.
What can you expect
As the Shipping & Receiving Clerk you will work onsite in Fairbanks AK and will play a key role in the efficient flow of parts supplies and materials throughout the organization. You will be responsible for processing purchase orders and material requisitions coordinating timely pick-up and delivery of goods and ensuring accurate documentation and organized inventory management. You will support operations by delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position is vital to the day-to-day operations of the company ensuring that materials are where they need to be on time and in proper condition. To support field operations customer needs and shop activities.
How will you do it
- Process purchase orders material requests and requisitions for parts tools and supplies accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate and complete the pick-up and delivery of parts supplies and miscellaneous materials to customers job sites and the company shop as needed.
- Receive and document parts supplies and materials and organized in an organized manner.
- Determine and plan the most efficient delivery routes each day to ensure timely material distribution.
- Process paperwork including requisition forms packing slips purchase orders etc. in an accurate detailed and organized manner.
- Prepare outgoing shipments for delivery to field locations and customers ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to load/unload shipments and support daily logistics.
- Provide courteous professional customer service while enforcing company service standards.
- Maintain the yard and surrounding grounds to ensure cleanliness and safe access.
- Run errands and assist other departments with logistical tasks as assigned.
- Participate in company-mandated training and comply with all safety and operational procedures.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures for parts equipment and materials including documentation handling and delivery protocols.
- Familiarity with inventory control systems and the ability to maintain organized stock records and storage areas.
- Understanding of basic purchase order and requisition processes including interpreting packing slips invoices and purchase documentation.
- Knowledge of logistics and associated freight/shipping companies.
- Awareness of heavy equipment parts and materials commonly used in rental or dealership operations (preferred but can be trained).
- Excellent time management skills. Ability to be consistently at work and on time and must use time effectively during scheduled shifts.
- Basic mathematical skills such as the ability to add subtract multiply and divide using whole numbers common fractions and decimal points.
- Independent thinker that is able to generate suggestions for improving workflow present ideas and get information in a manner that gets the job done efficiently.
- Ability to use personal computer and working knowledge of standard office application (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite) and ability to learn new applications.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to do business ethically with customers vendors and co-workers.
- Customer service skills to interact professionally with vendors clients and internal departments.
- Ability to communicate effectively to customers and before a group of people.
- Ability to learn and understand the Companys Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ability to be detail oriented and ensure records are completed in an accurate manner.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities or routes throughout the day to support operational demands.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule and willing to work occasional overtime to meet workload demands.
- Ability to follow instructions respond to management directions; take responsibility for own actions; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.
Who is Yukon Equipment looking for
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- No prior experience required.
- Valid state drivers license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Yukon Equipments Driving Policy.
- Ability to pass drug driving and background screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year minimum of relevant Shipping and Receiving/Logistics experience preferred.
- Experience working at a construction shop/site or rental equipment operation preferred.
- Experience operating heavy equipment specifically a forklift preferred.
Working Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Yukon Equipment has a fast-paced multi-tasking office environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. At times work is performed outside of the office at indoor and outdoor job sites. Adaptability regarding schedule and design changes and occasional overtime for immediate field support or bid processing may be necessary.
