Job Description

Job Summary:
The Assistant Principal supports the mission and vision of the school by fostering a Christ-centered environment that promotes Catholic identity academic excellence and holistic student development. This position plays a key leadership role in implementing school-wide policies overseeing student support services managing discipline and coordinating services for students with special needs. The Assistant Principal also helps monitor the use of Title funds and ensures compliance with state continuing education requirements for staff. A strong candidate will be collaborative organized and committed to nurturing a respectful and inclusive Catholic school culture.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote Catholic Identity
    • Actively foster and model Catholic values and faith formation across all areas of school life.
    • Support teachers and staff in integrating Catholic teachings and traditions into classroom instruction and school activities.
  • Discipline
    • Manage student discipline with a restorative and formative approach aligned with Catholic values.
    • Maintain accurate records of student behavior incidents and interventions.
  • Set and Maintain Uniform Expectations
    • Collaborate with staff to set clear behavior academic and dress code expectations.
    • Monitor implementation of student handbook policies and promote consistency in enforcement.
  • Student Support Services
    • Supervise and enhance support services academic interventions and behavior management systems.
    • Serve as a liaison between students parents and external service providers as needed.
  • Identify and Support Students with Special Needs
    • Coordinate with teachers and specialists to identify students requiring additional support.
    • Facilitate the development and implementation of individualized accommodation plans (e.g. IEPs 504 Plans Student Support Plans).
  • Title Funding Oversight
    • Work with administration of All Saints and Plymouth-Canton Schools to coordinate Title-funded programs and services.
  • Staff Professional Development
    • Track staff compliance with state-mandated continuing education and certification requirements.
    • Support planning and implementation of professional development aligned with school improvement goals.
  • School Operations and Leadership
    • Collaborate with the principal and leadership team in day-to-day school operations.
    • Serve as acting principal when the principal is unavailable.
Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Educational Leadership
  • Valid teaching certification
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers staff and parents
  • Knowledge of educational best practices
