To assist with development and management of federal and state grants/budgets and local budgets.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
- Bachelors degree required upon application. Business and Finance degree preferred
Skills
- Experience in writing grants and oversight of budgets is preferred
- Experience working with state and federal grant programs preferred
- Attention to detail required
- Strong technology skills required
- Exhibits the ability to be a team member and is service-oriented
- Demonstrates problem-solving skills and is self-motivated with a high degree of personal responsibility to meet program requirements

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assists in writing and amending grant proposals/applications to enhance resources
- Reviews grant expenditures to ensure they are appropriate and timely keeping in mind that goods and services must be received or occur during the grant period in time to benefit the grant substantially
- Screens travel requests to determine that budgets are correct
- Review and approve travel expenses
- Provides information about program guidelines and updates to Directors regularly
- Collaborates with Directors Business Office and program specialists to manage grant funds and budgets efficiently and effectively
- Compare Time and Effort reports to payroll distribution reports to verify the accuracy of salary charges against federal and state grant funding
- Coordinate with HR payroll and department leads to verify role changes and ensure accurate reflection of responsibilities and organizational structure in the system
- Serve as a point of contact for departments regarding Skyward functionality questions troubleshooting and workflow improvements
- Adheres to all state and federal purchasing guidelines and establishes timelines for expenditures when assisting Directors with budgets
- Facilitates collaboration and coordination among programs by participating in team meetings as requested
- Provides regular updates to Directors or their designees on grants and budget status
- Prepares monitors and amends program budgets
- Assists the Business Office with other projects as needed
- Completes necessary reporting to Directors the Business Office and TEA accurately completely and in a timely manner
- Assists in the annual process of determining salary requirements for the coming year regarding distribution percentages and fund budgets
- Monitors salary allocations of employees and develops Change of Employee Status forms for submission to the Business Office
- Assists with submission of required evaluation data and reports
- Maintains a functioning cell phone and is accessible through this phone as deemed appropriate by the CFO. A functioning cell phone means that it is charged activated messages checked and mailbox emptied regularly
- Reports for work ready to perform responsibilities
- Performs duties that directly and/or indirectly impact student performance in Region
- Maintains a professional level of confidentiality regarding all ESC matters
- Supports the mission goals and objectives of the ESC strategic plan
- Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the ESC safety program
- Performs professional responsibilities as required by ESC policies processes and procedures
- Manages time calendar and job responsibilities to meet deadlines
- Meets proficiency levels of required technology skills as outlined by supervisor
- Incorporates appropriate technology in daily work and exhibits continual growth in technologies as outlined by supervisor
