Location:Delano/McFarland area (Office-based role)
Position Summary:
The FLC Accounting Clerk plays a vital role in supporting accounting operations and ensuring accuracy in payroll preparation and labor cost allocation. This position contributes to the success of the organization by modeling values of excellence accountability transparency and stewardship.
Key Responsibilities:
Answer front desk phone calls and provide general administrative support
Review and process timesheets from Farm Labor Contractors (FLCs)
Record and verify labor hours for various crews across departments
Allocate total labor costs using accounting systems (e.g. Famous Open Invoice)
Provide accurate payroll funding amounts to ensure timely payroll processing
Collect contracts and necessary documentation for compliance and clearance
Perform other related duties as assigned
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel Word Outlook PowerPoint
Understanding of basic accounting principles
Familiarity with payroll processes and labor laws
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in repetitive tasks
Effective multitasking and time management skills
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
Excellent organizational skills and ability to self-review work
Ability to maintain professionalism when interacting with employees and vendors
Capable of using standard office equipment
Qualifications:
High School diploma required; AA degree in Accounting preferred
13 years of experience in data entry payroll or related clerical/accounting role
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
Comfortable prioritizing and meeting deadlines
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
Demonstrates integrity and a proactive approach to raising concerns or offering ideas
