Job Summary:
The Assembly Lead will oversee a team of approximately 15-25 individuals responsible for training coaching and mentoring employees working in the fabrication department to ensure all assembly-related tasks are completed on time and within budget. This position will be responsible for correcting timesheets within our timekeeping system monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with safety quality and delivery standards. This role will report to the Assembly Area Supervisor and will work hand in hand with other department leaders to meet project deadlines. Hours of production are Sunday Thursday 4:30 pm to 2:30 am.

Effective Communicator You provide clear instructions updates and feedback to team members while collaborating with supervisors and other departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate and collaborate with other leads and managers to achieve quality safety and delivery goals.
  • Ensure all team members comply with all safety protocols.
  • Review timesheets and team time management. Clocking into jobs and in and out of new jobs assisting with providing direction on the app as needed
  • Manage the workload of the team to align with the production deadlines.
  • Act as first point of contact for employee questions regarding company policies and procedures attendance expectations and other general questions from crew.
  • Ensure the following tasks are completed according to standards in a timely manner:
    • Perform all operations required in enclosure department
    • Train assemblers and delegate within the department
  • Oversee that quality checklists are completed and all steps are followed.
  • Mentor coach and train team members to work through tier levels within Assembly discipline.
  • Recognize and reward team and individual successes.
  • Elevate the need for conflict resolution and mitigation of grievances and complaints to supervisor.
  • Provide team members with an initial 90-day overview of how they are preforming on assigned tasks outlining needed improvements and recognizing mastery of tasks thus far. Provide input on annual reviews thereafter.
  • Ongoing performance feedback coaching through meeting with employees 1x1
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and express any variances.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is desired OR any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties (required)
  • At least 3 years of experience related to Assembly in one or more of the following welding overhead crane or fabrication.
  • At least 1 year as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) of welding and fabrication.
  • Lead teams with troubleshooting diagnosing and resolving basic to complex issues.
  • Collaborate with coworkers and peers to encourage teamwork and accountability.
  • Exhibit consistent time management skills and adapt to quickly changing priorities.
  • Experience accurately reading and interpreting blueprints and identifying irregularities.
  • Strong attention to detail with an eye for quality and ability to identify imperfections.
  • Demonstrate clear communication with other internal teams/supervisors/management.
  • Knowledge of jobsite safety and ability to always ensure a safe workplace.
  • Have reliable attendance be respectful and responsible at work.
  • Ability to demonstrate basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure.
  • Experience and understanding of overhead cranes and forklifts and scissor lifts.
  • Ability to model leadership traits and exude confidence resilience integrity and teamwork and openness.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized environment promoting a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Adept at training others and delegating work within teams.
  • Able to use JTS communication systems effectively.
  • Skilled at quickly and accurately analyzing and solving technical problems.
  • Ensure OHSA and HSE standards are maintained.
  • Consistently wear and enforce donning of PPE such as protective eyewear hearing protection weld hoods safety clothing etc.
  • Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing environment requiring the employee to stand stoop kneel or crouch throughout an 8-to-10-hour day.
  • Strength to carry product equipment and tools up to 50 pounds and push or pull product up to 100 pounds.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
