Job Description

The Rivett Group - Controller

Summary

The Controller will provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by evaluating analyzing and reporting appropriate data points. Will lead and manage multiple tax and accounting engagements across a multi-company platform. Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape. Develop implement and maintain financial controls and guidelines. Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling analysis and corrective actions. Help develop and support short- and long-term operation strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts costs and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.
  • Establish (in coordination with CAO) financial and operating benchmarks budgets program monitoring and reporting standards on bi-weekly monthly and annual basis.
  • Implement consistent accounting policies practices and procedures across all programs adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation.
  • Assist in preparation and review of federal and state income taxes for multiple entities. Prepare internal memos written correspondence/guidance and other documents for submission to the IRS or Treasury Department
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets policies procedures and workflows.
  • Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
  • Ensure regulations and compliance reporting are followed.
  • Assist with financial project management.
  • Understand banking processes and financial data analysis.

Job Requirements

Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office products.

Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Excellent multi-task and organization skills.

Must be dependable professional consistent and serious about the tasks at hand.

Excellent attention to detail.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelors degree in accounting business or related field.

Five or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager.

Five or more years of business tax preparation experience.

Preferred but not Required Qualifications

Professional certification (Certified Public Accountant).

Supervisory Responsibility

This position supervises the accounting department.

Work Environment

The job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones copiers filing cabinets and other customary office equipment.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files open filing cabinets and ben or stand as necessary.

Travel

Some occasional overnight travel may be necessary.

Safety Requirements

Must be aware and conform to all safety requirements when in the facility operating motor vehicles or in the field performing duties for the company.
