Job Description
Coffeyville Regional Medical Center or CRMC is a 25-bednon-profit critical access hospital serving Southeast Kansas and Northeast Oklahoma since 1949. GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Pharmacy Technician assists licensed pharmacists with the preparation and distribution of prescribed medications. S/he fills orders for patients ensures that they are delivered to the correct units and assures appropriate drug inventory.
JOB DUTIES:
- Prepare medications for patients
- Receive and verify medication shipments
- Deliver medications to medical staff
- Enter charges and credits into medical records and billing systems
- Obtain pharmacists approval for prepared doses
- Unit dose preparation of oral solids and liquids from bulk bottle
- Restock automated medication dispensing systems
- Ensure availability of drugs by delivering them to patients or facilities
- Assist with area checks for drug control and inventory management
- Maintain pharmacys (and its patients employees) safety by adhering to infection-control procedures policies and regulations
- Maintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy
The Pharmacy Technician assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with patients medical staff and the public
- Detail oriented with proven ability to multitask
- Professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others
- Computer skills including MSOffice Outlook Meditech preferred
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of accredited Pharmacy Technician program required
- Current National Pharmacy Technician certification or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment required
- Current Kansas State Board of Pharmacy Technician License required
- BLS required
- 1-2 years clinical pharmacy experience preferred
