As an Engineering Manager you will lead and grow high performing teams that drive projects critical to Bridgits needs. We need our managers to be versatile display exceptional leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

Youre a great fit if you have:
- Proven People Leadership: You have experience building and developing engineering teams and you see leadership as a craft focusing on mentoring and empowering engineers to do their best work.
- Strong Technical Acumen: While you may not be coding daily you have a solid background in software engineering. You can confidently lead technical discussions on scalable system architecture SDLC principles and DevOps culture.
- Cloud & CI/CD Expertise: You have practical experience with cloud-native application development (preferably AWS) and have worked in environments with mature Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- A Collaborative Mindset: You excel at working with cross-functional partners (like Product Design and Data) to solve complex and conceptually exciting problems.
- Bonus Points For: Experience in a fast-paced scale-up fintech or consumer-facing product environment.
How youll make an impact:
- Manage and support our multidisciplinary team of engineers working on proprietary algorithms as well as help them advance in their careers.
- Support the design development and delivery of new product features across our multi-stack ecosystem.
- Take ownership of the architecture solutions and the delivery of projects.
- Uphold high standards for our uptime and latency requirements while not sacrificing the veracity of API responses.
- Participate in maintaining the teams cohesion and healthiness.
- Handle our incident response and post-incident investigation processes.
- Make critical choices in planning for the long-term vision of our infrastructure and its quality while not over-engineering.
- Maintain high-quality standards for code infrastructure and documentation.
- Support the creation and maintenance of user documentation.
What youll do at Bridgit:
As an Engineering Manager you will be at the heart of our product development driving both your team and our technology forward.
- Lead Mentor and Grow: Lead a high-performing multidisciplinary engineering team fostering a culture of collaboration ownership and continuous improvement. Youll be responsible for their career development performance and well-being.
- Drive Technical Delivery: Partner with Product Managers to translate our product vision into a technical roadmap. Youll own the delivery of this roadmap ensuring your team ships high-quality scalable features on time.
- Champion Technical Excellence: Guide your team in making key architectural decisions for our backend and frontend systems. Youll promote best practices in software development from design patterns to CI/CD and testing.
- Shape the Future of Engineering: Contribute to the broader engineering strategy helping us scale our teams processes and cloud infrastructure (were all-in on AWS).
- Build the Team: Play a role in attracting interviewing and hiring top engineering talent to help Bridgit grow.
What youll bring:
- 5 years working as a backend developer.
- 2 years experience with .
- Experience leading a high performing team.
- Commercial experience with TypeScript and AWS Infrastructure.
- Positive attitude to the day to day with good interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail in documentation and ticket descriptions.
- Experience with PostgreSQL.
- Outstanding communication skills.
