Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Detailing Center and Vulcraft Nebraska are looking for a structural design engineer in our Norfolk NE locations. As a structural design engineer you will specialize in designing fabricated products systems and/or structures to withstand various loads and/or environmental conditions. Basic job functions are as follows:
- Provide general structural engineering services and guidance for internal Nucor divisions including the design/analysis of conventional steel structures connections truss & box girders lifting devices reinforcement details and basic foundations.
- Use structural engineering principles and our proprietary software to design steels joists and joist girders to ensure public safety.
- Collaborate with Detailing Shop Order and Production teammates to ensure quality and on-time delivery of products.
- Promote our products by being involved in business development activities such as direct engagement with industry professionals delivering lunch-and-learn presentations and being an exhibitor at trade shows.
- Continuously develops self and invests in team through mentorship and engagement in professional development activities.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline from an ABET accredited program
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- PE license or desire ability and dedication to obtain a license
- MS in Civil/Structural Engineering
