Job Description
The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of all electrical/electronic equipment and systems including process equipment utility equipment and control loop setup/calibration.
We offer two shift options for this role: a 3rd shift from 10 PM to 6 AM or a 12-hour 2-2-3 schedule from 6 PM to 6 AM which involves working every other weekend.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for all facets of maintenance and repair but most specifically those related to control systems troubleshooting PLC programming documentation and software backups.
Establish control loop calibration routes and ensure that the equipment controls are maintained within the design and set point parameters necessary to function properly.
Troubleshoot diagnose and repair manufacturing equipment with special regard to major and minor electrical/electronic system failures throughout the facility.
Develop and/or update changes to technical schematics and documentation including formal technical training hands-on training and written procedures (i.e. work instructions SOPs and lesson guides).
Offer technical expertise and guidance to other team members including operations engineering and maintenance personnel.
Take initiative and provide leadership in situations requiring advanced electrical/electronic knowledge or when issues arise outside the typical scope of maintenance work.
Participate in special projects/functions including: formal and hands-on technical training for operations and maintenance personnel emergency and scheduled maintenance coverage and the development of special written procedures/programs.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required. An associates degree in a related discipline is preferred.
6 years verifiable work experience in the electronics and instrumentation field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Knowledge and understanding of Proportional-Integral-Differential (PID) control loops AC/DC drives and assessment techniques for examining questioning and evaluating PLC program logic.
Lean manufacturing Six Sigma ISO or related experience preferred.
Regard safety as a core value; must serve as a role model for other employees and encourage adherence to safety practices policies and procedures.
Understanding of applicable computer systems such as Google Sheets/Docs Microsoft Office Lotus Notes and function-specific software.
Able and willing to work overtime including short-notice requests.
Able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
