The University of Miami Bascom Palmer Eye Institute has an exciting job opportunity for a full time Ophthalmic Imager 1 (OI1) in Miami Florida.
Ophthalmic Imager 1 (OI1) is competent in the theory principles and practice of eye care. OI1 documents in the EMR system and performs ocular diagnostic testing using specialized instrumentation in compliance with department standards.
Core Job Functions:
Performs diagnostic testing including but not limited to the below.
Color fundus photography
Fluorescein angiography
ICG (Indocyanine Green) angiography
Optical coherence tomography
Automated & manual perimetry
Slit lamp photography
External photography
Ocular motility photography
Performs supervised ocular diagnostic testing using specialty-specific imaging instruments documents procedures and uploads images into the electronic medical record/PACS platform.
Provides patient-centric care.
Adheres to University of Miami policies standards and values.
Compliance with regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
Follows best practices of patient safety hand hygiene and infection control.
Completes the University of Miami mandatory in-services and online training.
Attends educational courses for ophthalmic personnel when assigned.
Demonstrates high quality of work through accuracy timeliness professionalism and thoroughness.
Meets daily productivity goals.
Ensures all equipment is calibrated and instrumentation is in proper working order.
Organize and stock rooms for daily clinical activities.
Travels to satellite eye centers when necessary.
Works evenings and weekends as needed.
Performs organization duties as designated.

Core Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Certifications and Licensing:
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.

Demonstrates outstanding interpersonal skills.
Analyzes organizes and prioritizes while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.

Displays competent knowledge of ocular anatomy function and motility.
Identifies imaging instruments and modalities based on diagnosis.
Knowledgeable in computer software for all imaging modalities.
Demonstrates core knowledge of standardized imaging protocols based on diagnosis.
Uploads all imaging modalities to the PACS platform.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
