Job Description

The City of Tomball is accepting applications for the position of Community Center Manager. This position provides efficient functioning of the Tomball Community Center. The position encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities from administrative and operational planning to community engagement ensuring the center remains a hub of activity and value for the community.


Education and Experience An equivalent combination of education training and experience will be considered.

Education Bachelor (Related Field)

Experience Minimum of 3 years previous relevant work experience is required.

Certifications CPR Food Handler Permit

Licensing Drivers License


Community Center Manager functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Center Oversight and Planning: Organize coordinate manage and direct the administrative and operational activities of the Community Center. Supervise a broad array of indoor recreational activities classes and events tailoring to community needs. Promote the Community Center enhancing its visibility within the community. Implement proactive marketing strategies to amplify the centers offerings.
  • Rentals Management: Secure maintain and supervise rental contracts ensuring alignment with center standards. Monitor the entire rental process ensuring a seamless experience for renters.
  • Maintenance Management: Guarantee the upkeep appearance and maintenance of the Community Center building. Ensuring its safety and address any necessary repairs promptly.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain comprehensive records concerning the centers operations. Conduct financial tasks such as deposits managing PA7 forms and other relevant administrative documentation. Modify the monthly calendar accordingly and ensure its availability on the centers website.
  • Staff and Volunteer Management: Oversee staff scheduling and provide leadership as needed. Supervise and integrate staff and volunteers effectively in a professional manner. Regularly communicate with senior guests ensuring their specific needs are met and establish an open dialogue with attendees of all ages.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor the budget throughout the fiscal year. Utilize the City Charge Card prudently making necessary purchases for activities classes events and other requirements. Oversee payments for events and rentals complete essential paperwork and ensure delivery of payment in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.

  • The work is typically performed indoors in an office setting and occasionally outdoors.

Hiring Range: $53373- $56035

Salary Range: $53373- $80038
